Amazing Trusted Thailand: TAT set for rebrand as foreign tourists expected to return in October

Thailand’s Tourism Authority plans to rebrand its famous and hugely successful ‘Amazing Thailand’ slogan.

The rebrand will see ‘Amazing Thailand’ become ‘Amazing Trusted Thailand’.

As part of the rebrand, TAT will put health and safety at the forefront of the new promotional campaign with the aim of helping to build confidence among foreign tourists.

The slogan ‘Thailand You Trust’ will also be used and will focus on three key selling points:
– Thailand’s effective public health system
– Thai food and culture
– Thailand’s natural beauty and the hospitality of Thai people

According to Bangkok Biz News, the promotion campaign will take place in three phases.

The first phase coincides with the easing of the restrictions put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The second phase, which will be in place from June, involves targeting tourists with promotional campaigns from countries where COVID-19 is no longer deemed a risk or which are regarded as having the spread of COVID-19 under control.

Tourists from these countries will then be matched with provinces or regions in Thailand which have not reported a new COVID-19 case for at least 28 days.

Islands such as Koh Samui could be among the first destinations to welcome foriegn tourists as it would be easier for the authorities to monitor arrivals and implement quarantine, should the need arise.

The third phase is enabling foreign tourists to travel to Thailand under the so-called new normal, where health and safety and quality of service is emphasised. High end international tourists will be the target in this third phase, with Thailand promoting itself as a destination for health tourism.

TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn said the aim is to have foreign tourists returning to Thailand in October but that target is also dependent on any guidelines issued by the Ministry of Public Health.
